AYLIN
Aylin is a graduate student in Art History at the University of Zurich, specialising in late medieval art, with a special interest in medieval manuscripts and the maps they often contain. Her research investigates the intricate interplay between imagination and geographic knowledge in the Middle Ages. By tracing the visual and symbolic language of these works, she challenges modern historical narratives, advocating for new ways of thinking and writing about history that embrace complexity, ambiguity, and wonder. Through her essays, she is offering a lens into how past societies envisioned their place within a broader, interconnected world.
